Young Adults
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” -Maya Angelou
This time in a young person’s life can be both exciting and challenging. For some, it could mean the first time of being ‘on your own’. Going to college, moving away from home, or finding independence. For some, it could mean staying closer to home to help support your family. Getting a job to help put food on the table, going to college part-time or not at all, or taking care of your family members. For some, it could be the first time you are finally free from stressful and traumatizing circumstances. Leaving an abusive environment, having control over what happens to you for the first time, or questioning what possibilities are out there for you. If you are struggling and this time in your life has brought on strong feelings of unease, discomfort, or suffering, and you are experiencing symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, or other significant changes in your behavior and mood, it may be the perfect time to check in with someone. No matter what this time of transition looks like in your life, I am here to help you navigate through all the twists and turns. I can help you process through the strong emotions you are experiencing while also helping you to discover and build your personal strengths. You deserve to live a life you are proud of. This could be the first step towards a happier, healthier you.
